Lenny Daws - Bring on the Titles

Former British light welterweight champion, Lightning Lenny Daws is hoping a win against Bridgewater's Dean Mills on Saturday 7th July will be the next step towards getting a shot at a major title.

The 8 round light welterweight contest will take place on the undercard of the Tyson Fury vs. Vinny Maddalone fight at the Hand Arena, Clevedon, Somerset.

"I'm beginning to feel in the best shape of my life and after this fight I'll be ready to go after either the British, Commonwealth or European titles."

Daws who will be taking part in his 28th professional fight against Mills said "We have watched a few of Dean's fights and he looks strong and very game and I know it is going to be a all action, very entertaining fight. But I'm predicting either a late stoppage or points win for me"

"I have also won the right to fight for the EU title against Ville Piispanen which is great, it gives me the opportunity to fight on the next level and chase a new title, so hopefully I have a very exciting 12 months ahead of me." Added Lenny.

Tyson Fury vs. Vinny Maddalone will take place in front of a 3,000 strong crowd at the Hand Arena, Clevedon, Somerset on Saturday 7th July.

The 12 round international contest promoted by Hennessy Sports in association with Sanigar Events and Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing will be broadcast live on Channel 5 from 10pm.

Supporting Tyson will be middleweight sensation Chris Eubank Jnr in his 5th pro fight and British champion Lee Haskins from Bristol, who is challenging Darlington's former British champion Stuart Hall for the vacant European Bantamweight title.

The undercard will also feature Tyson's cousin Phill Fury, Bristol fighters Michael Graydon and Ricky Pow and Tamuka Mucha from Reading.

And making his UK debut will be the Hennessy Sports promoted Canadian Welterweight Champion Samuel Vargas.
