Froch - 'I'll break cue!'

Carl Froch has been getting help from two of Britain's hottest prospects in George Groves and his new dance partner, Tony Jeffries over the next couple of weeks at the Olympic training facility up in Sheffield.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Tony and think with his size and strength in camp, it can only be a good thing. Tony is a very good fighter and his medal goes to show he can mix it in world class," said Froch.

"Groves is a top class super-middleweight. He gives as good as he gets and he is definitely made of the right stuff to hit the top of this sport. I'm looking forward to seeing George again and imagine he has improved since we last trained together."

Whilst many of the younger amateurs look up to an established fighter like Froch, it's the Nottingham man who has bumped into some of his sporting heroes - but from the world of snooker!

"I couldn't believe it when just round the corner the likes of Jimmy White and John Parrot were battling it out for the world qualifiers. As you know I am a massive snooker fan and would have loved to have played professional. Then Tony Drago spotted me and came over to chat. Apparently he's a big boxing fan and that him and a pal are heading to Herning to watch me fight Kessler which is great. I was sceptical for a second but he knew the date, the venue and opponent and is really forward to it."

Froch used to be a hot shot snooker player in his youth, with him mum Carol being a landlady of several traditional pubs over the years, young Carl and his brothers often racked them up and played for hours.

"I still go to the snooker club with my brother and some mates and we have a few games. I try and get there at least once a month for a couple of frames. So being a fan and then having the world qualifiers literally feet away from where I'm staying is Sheffield is a nice bonus and a great way to unwind after hitting the runs at the crack of dawn every day."

Froch looks to wrap up his training the weekend before the fight and then to head out to Denmark with his team, before being joined by his family nearer fight night.

"I'm walking round at 170lb and I imagine Kessler is going to be in top shape too. Your gonna witness two fighter's on their A-game on the 24th and it's going to be epic."
