HENNESSY WILL HOLD BACK HIS FURY

PROMOTER Mick Hennessy believes a new star has been born in giant heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury.

Fury, 20, stopped Germany's Marcel Zeller in the third round of their clash in Wigan on Saturday and Hennessy is now convinced he has unearthed a future world champion.

"It was an historic performance which strongly suggests Tyson could go all the way," said Hennessy. "He blew away a highly-ranked opponent who had knock-outs in 20 of his 21 wins and had only lost three times.

"Tyson Fury is the future. He is still just a kid, but he will be fighting every month until the latter part of the year when we will put him in for title fights - he is that good. The problem we have got is holding him back because he just wants to fight the best right now."

John Murray successfully defended his British lightweight title against Lee McAllister on the Wigan card, stopping him in the eighth round of a thrilling contest.

Murray, said: "I gave up my Christmas to be in perfect shape. I wasn't going to let him take my title. It was a peach of a punch which nailed him and my career is going great guns."
