GEDLING'S Leigh Wood has been sparring with Kid Galahad, who takes on Jason Booth for the WBC International super-bantamweight title in Rotherham on February 18.

But Wood is "sitting on the fence" when it comes to predicting a winner.

"The Kid is not a big puncher, but he is accurate and very fast," said Wood.

"He can whack, even in training. I should be rooting for Jason because I'm from Nottingham, but the Kid is from my stable so I've got divided loyalties. All I can tell Jason is that the Kid is looking sharp and he wants to win the title."

Wood has his third pro fight against Pavels Senkovs, who has twice been beaten by Galahad.

"Senkovs hasn't got a good record, but he comes to fight," said Wood. "He should give me a good test

"I feel I am progressing well and I want to be in the mix this time next year.

"I would also love to fight in Nottingham. It would be great to be on the bill for Carl Froch's fight in Nottingham."

Wood is hoping to take two coach loads of fans to Rotherham from Nottingham. To book a seat call 07544698000.
