Trainer McCracken has every faith in his man Froch

THERE'S no doubt in trainer Robert McCracken's mind about the result of Carl Froch's WBC super-middleweight title defence against US star Jermain Taylor.

McCracken - who flew back from Froch's training camp in Canada for last Saturday's big fight night at the York Hall - says Nottingham boxer Froch has a very special talent.

"Taylor is very good, but Carl is a little fresher," said McCracken. "He has a better reach, a higher work rate and he has the edge in power.

"Carl is special. He is prepared to make sacrifices. He's always had the makings of great fighter. You could see that when he was an amateur."

McCracken reckons that Froch's fight against former world middleweight champion Taylor - at Foxwoods on April 25 - will be just the beginning of great things to come for the WBC champion.

"We needed to get to America, fight a great fight and be victorious," he said. "The big fights, the money are in America - where legends are made.

"Carl is a throwback fighter with the kind of power and strength that fighters aren't used to.

"He's awkward, but he learns and always listens. He is 100 percent professional and is not only totally comfortable fighting in America - but he is certainly looking forward to the occasion.

"Taylor is obviously a great fighter with a couple wins over Bernard Hopkins. But Carl is a special guy and this is his big opportunity.

"It will be a great fight but there will only be one winner - and it will be Carl Froch.''

One man watching the outcome of the fight with interest is IBO super-middleweight champion Sakio Bika.

"I'd love to fight the winner," said Bika. "I have never seen Froch fight before. I am looking forward to seeing how he handles Jermain Taylor on April 25.

"And I give Froch credit for being prepared to fight in America."
