Local hero Froch triumphs in US
Nottingham's boxing hero Carl 'The Cobra' Froch triumphed in the US over the weekend in defence of his WBC super-middleweight title.
Carl Froch In a gripping bout, Froch was floored for the first time in his career by his opponent Jermain Taylor but came back to clinch the fight with 14 seconds to go to the final bell.
Nottingham City Council Leader, Jon Collins said:
"Carl put up a magnificent fight and showed true Nottingham determination by coming back to win when others might have thrown in the towel. We're proud of his achievement and look forward to welcoming him back home."
