FROCH RALLYING CALL TO FOREST FANS

Press Association Sport, Phil Barnett13th April, 2010

Nottingham Forest fan Carl Froch admits his club's failure to secure automatic promotion to the Barclays Premier League may work in his favour when he fights Mikkel Kessler in Denmark next weekend.

Froch will defend his WBC super-middleweight title on foreign soil in Herning on April 24 in the second round of the Super Six tournament.

The date of the Kessler fight clashes with Forest's final home game of the Coca-Cola Championship season.

However, with them now confined to the play-offs and out of the running for an automatic spot following West Brom's promotion at the weekend, season ticket-holder Froch hopes more of his supporters will now make the trip to Denmark.

The 'Cobra' said: "There are still tickets there for the fans. We had 2,000 set aside and made sure we got that in the contract and quite a few have sold - although not 2,000.

"There is still an opportunity for people who want to come and support me in Denmark to get tickets.

"With Forest definitely being in the play-offs, Cobra fans have got a chance to come out to Denmark and look forward to coming back for the play-offs and celebrating my win."
