DARREN McDermott's opponent "Dazzling" Darren Barker is also in bullish mood ahead of their Commonwelth middleweight title clash.

Barker, who turned 27 on Tuesday, will be making the third defence of his Commonwealth crown against the Black Country Bodysnatcher in Watford on Saturday.

After shooting to fame by claiming gold at the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002 the Barnet born fighter has gone on to compile an impressive 19 fight unbeaten record in his professional career.

His CV also includes glowing references from World Super Middleweight champions, Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler after he spent time sparring with both.

Barker said: "I've sparred with big strong Super Middleweight World Champs like Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler and had no problems with them.

"I've watched McDermott's last three fights and no disrespect to him but I don't believe he's boxed in the same class as me."
