Witter not distracted by Khan

Junior Witter has told Bunce's Boxing Hour that Amir Khan will only come on his radar if he beats Andreas Kotelnik and lands a world title.

Witter is preparing for a WBC junior-welterweight title fight with Devon Alexander, but talk has already taken place about a potential meeting with Khan.

The Bradford man feels he would have no problem taking care of Khan, but is focusing on his clash with Alexander in Florida on July 11.

"Things are going well at the minute," Witter told the Bunce Boxing Hour.

"I am relived this fight is going to happen. I've had a lot of things almost happen and now this one is finally happening, I'm happy."

Witter is unfazed by having to travel across the Atlantic for his title shot.

He added: "Travelling is never the best of things, but I travel well. It puts extra pressure on me as I've got to win and win well when I go abroad."

Khan is due to fight Kotelnik for the WBA junior-welterweight belt on June 27 and Witter is not distracted by thoughts of a clash with the Bolton man.

"It's a weird old world boxing," added Witter. "I look at things and say what happens, happens.

"Amir Khan realistically is not on my radar. If he wins the world title he comes on my radar.

"Realistically it is a fight that can be made if he wins. I'll be up for it as I'll look to knock him out inside three rounds."
