Hennessy Sports2nd May, 2012

Former English title challenger Harry Matthews believes that on May 12 he will be the first person to beat rising star Chris Eubank Jr.

Eubank Jr vs. Matthews which is set to take place at the Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Sheffield is proudly presented by Hennessy Sports in association with Alma Ingle and will be shown live on Channel 5.

Matthews explained "I asked my promoter Mark Bateson for this fight a while ago but we were turned down, so after Eubank Jr's good win against Paul Allison last month my promoter asked the question again and this time we have been successful and they finally accepted the fight."

Harry feels it's a dream come true to be fighting on Channel 5 in front of millions of boxing fans.

Although comparisons with Eubank Jr's famous father, former World middleweight champion Chris, have been made, Matthews said "Eubank Jr is a very talented fighter and a great prospect but he is not his dad he is a different person, he is someone who I think I can beat."

And when asked about how he sees the fight going Harry replied "Simple, I'm going to win by either a knock out or on points, I wouldn't have taken this fight if I didn't think I couldn't beat him.

"I'm ready and up for the challenge on May 12." Added Harry.
