John O'Donnell continues on the comeback trail as part of a talented and exciting bill at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on Friday, 27th June 2008.
Top of the Hennessy Sports in association with GoldenPalace.net bill is the British Super-Bantamweight Title fight between Esham Pickering (Newark) and Matthew Marsh (Welling) and there is plenty of quality on display before the main event featuring London boxers.
Stylish Shepherds Bush welterweight O'Donnell out-pointed Billy Smith over four rounds only last month after suffering his first professional loss to Mexican Christian Solano in Las Vegas in May.
O'Donnell boxed in America with an ear problem which has since been resolved and is looking to put on an impressive display over six rounds to show he is still one of this country's outstanding talents.
Morden's Lenny Daws, the former British light-welterweight champion, faces Frenchman Mihaita Mutu in a ten-round international contest. Daws hopes victory over the former European lightweight title challenger will get him a British title shot.
Sidcup's Dave Walker is back in action against Isle of Wight's Jay Morris over six rounds down at welterweight, having contested British and European titles up at light-middleweight.
Undefeated Colchester lightweight Lee 'Lights Out' Purdy is gunning for his third successive first round knockout after stopping Jamie Spence and Craig Dyer in the opening sessions earlier this year. He has won all seven fights since his pro debut in December 2006. Purdy faces Kenyan Geoffrey Munika over six rounds.
Gareth Couch is another unbeaten prospect and the High Wycombe light-welterweight is looking to build on his last win when he overcame Tom Glover by a four-round point's decision two months ago.
Couch, who faces Coventry's Baz Carey over six rounds, said: "I want to box a lot more often after having just one fight last year and this next fight will get me even more sharper."
Canning Town crowd-pleaser George Hillyard is aiming for his fourth win in a row when he takes on Wimbledon's Danny Goode in a six-round light-middleweight contest in his first fight in eight months.
Stevenage light-middleweight Daniel Herdman and Canning Town super-middle Dwayne Lewis continue their young careers elsewhere on the bill in four round bouts. Lewis faces against Sheffield's Dean Walker and Herdman boxes JJ Bird of Peterborough.
The show will be televised live on Sky Sports 1 at 9.30pm.
