Froch To Defend Title In Nottingham

It looks like Carl Froch will make the second defence of his WBC super-middleweight title in his home city of Nottingham in mid October.

No opponent has been officially named but it is believed the man facing Froch will be unbeaten American Andre Dirrell. Froch vs Dirrell is set to be part of a six man super-middleweight boxing tounamant organised by American broadcasters Showtime. The other four boxers reportedly taking part are Mikkel Kessler,Arthur Abraham,Andre Ward and Froch victim Jermain Taylor.

Speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham the unbeaten Nottingham hero said: "It looks like it's going to be in Nottingham which is a positive thing.

"It's going to be early to mid-October so I've got plenty of time to shift a few pounds that I've put on after celebrating the last win."

Last time out Froch scored an impressive 12th round come from behind win over former undisputed world middleweight champ Jermain Taylor.
