Daniel Cadman out to show he is ready for title challenge.
Hennessy Sports 31st August, 2010
LONDON (31th August) Waltham Abbey's Daniel Cadman will make his return to the ring two months after his impressive display in the Prizefighter series, on the undercard of the exciting "Night of International Boxing" at York Hall, Bethnal Green on Friday 10th September.
The co - feature fights involving two of the UK and Ireland's finest boxers, John O'Donnell who is taking on Olympic Bronze Medalist American Terrence Cauthen over 12 rounds and Tyson Fury who will be fighting over 10 rounds, both bouts will be televised in America on SHOWTIME® at 11p.m. ET/PT (same day delay). The event will also be shown in Canada on the Super Channel Network and the UK Broadcaster will be announced soon.
The Prizefighter semi-finalist who has spent the last week in Belfast sparring WBA ranked number 1 challenger and current European Super Middleweight Champion Brian Magee told Hennessy Sports, "I only got the call from Tony (Sims) my trainer last Tuesday telling me that I am fighting at York Hall, now I can't wait, I'm still buzzing from my prizefighter encounter in June and I believe that night I showed people what I'm capable of.
"I might have lost to the eventual winner but I gave him his hardest fight of the night." Added Cadman.
The Super Middleweight reckons spending time in Belfast will give him the extra confidence and experience he needs to put in him a position to start to challenge for honours.
"Sharing the ring with the WBA World ranked number 1 for the last week has been excellent, it really makes you up your own game and gives you the extra confidence you need to challenge for titles, and to add to that before I came out here I was sparring another world class boxer European Champion Darren Barker. You can't wish for anymore experience before a fight, both guys are a different class."Said Daniel.
Promoter Mick Hennessy said, "Daniel showed on the night how exciting he can be, he came so close to stopping Mendes, I believe he would of beaten him and gone on to be crowned Prizefighter champion if he was not so eager to knock him out. He certainly has the potential to win titles"
Cadman will be joined by Colchester's Lee "Lights Out" Purdy who will be looking to defend his Southern Area Welterweight title (*subject to board approval), Phill "Intense" Fury will be out to record his 6th straight victory and the highly popular Light Welterweight Chris "the flash" Evangelou from Enfield will entertain the packed crowd and look to extend his unbeaten record on the undercard of the exciting "Night of International Boxing" at York Hall
Debutants John "Gorilla" Ryder (Middleweight) of Islington and Tyler Goodjohn will both be making the crossover to the paid ranks for the first time.
