It's the ones you don't see that really hurt. But even if Jermain Taylor had an inkling, he did not stand much of a chance after Arthur Abraham delivered a direct hit with his right hand to end Saturday night's "Super Six World Boxing Classic" super middleweight offering with six seconds left in the 12th round.

The Showtime Network, sponsors of the tournament, will replay the devastating knockout plenty.

"It was a great fight and a great knockout," said Abraham (31-0, 25 KOs), who was ahead on all three scorecards. "Taylor is good, but I am better."

Taylor was kept overnight in a hospital for observation and was released Sunday.

In the other "Super Six" bout in Nottingham, England, WBC champion Carl Froch (26-0, 20 KOs) won a split decision against Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KOs). Froch was in front on two cards, 115-112, with Dirrell getting the nod on the other, 114-113.

It could have gone down as a draw, but Dirrell hurt his chances when he was penalized a point for repeated holding in the 10th round.

The third bout in the series has Andre Ward facing Mikkel Kessler in Oakland, Calif., on Nov. 21. The Showtime telecast is at 10 p.m.

After that, the pairings in 2010 are Dirrell vs. Abraham, Kessler vs. Froch and Taylor vs. Ward.
