After six months out of the ring and with no title to his name Junior Witter showed the London fight fans he still had world class power, after blowing away Argentinian Victor Hugo Castro in three one sided rounds.
Several opponents had put their names into the hat weeks before, but one by one they slowly faded into the background as fight night approached.
"Its always been the same,12 weeks ago I started off with a named opponent and over that time several have come on gone."
Unfortunately for Victor Hugo Castro Junior Witter was out to prove his critics wrong and the tough Argentinian stopped only twice in thirty four outings bore the brunt of Juniors frustrations.Starting cautiously behind a stiff left jab it wasn't long before Junior started throwing in powershots to the body and head as Castro kept his guard high and tight.
By the second round Junior began to relax and his work began to flow and with only a few seconds of the round to go a left hook right hook combination to the body dropped Castro to the canvas. After taking a count the Argentinian got to his feet and was given respite by the bell.Witter picked up the pace in the third starting off southpaw then switching orthodox,it was all one way traffic as Castro was being battered around the ring.A minute into the round he was on the the canvas from a vicious left hook and right hook to the head, dazed and bewildered he got to his feet at ten and the fight was waved off by referee Mark Green.
"He was tough with a tight guard ,I saw a video off him earlier in the day and decided to break him down with body shots. It was just what I needed to shake the rust off,I trained hard for the fight and I am only five pounds over the championship weight.I still have the hunger and desire to become World Champion again."
