Hennessy Sports are proud to announce they will be hosting an important press conference on Tuesday, December 2nd ahead of the eagerly-anticipated WBA Super world middleweight title fight between Kazakhstan’s Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin and Manchester’s Martin Murray.

The press conference will take place in the Queensbury Suite at the Hotel Café Royal, London and will begin at 1pm (media are advised to arrive at 12.30pm). Both Golovkin and Murray will be present.

The superfight between Golovkin and Murray will go ahead on February 21, 2015 in Monte Carlo and tops the ‘Thunderbolt in Monaco’ show promoted by Golden Gloves in association with Hennessy Sports. Channel 5 will televise the fight LIVE in the United Kingdom.

St. Helens’ Murray is one of the very best fighters in the middleweight division and is a former British, Commonwealth and WBA Interim champion. He has twice previously fought for a version of the world middleweight title and both times was considered desperately unlucky not to win.

His first shot, against Germany’s WBA champion Felix Sturm, ended in a frustrating draw, while his trip to Argentina to face the great Sergio Martinez, then the WBC champion, resulted in a heavily-disputed defeated.

Since his fight with Martinez, however, Murray, 29-1-1 (12 KOs), has gone from strength to strength, beating the likes of Domenico Spada, Max Bursak and Sergey Khomitsky with plenty to spare. He now looks to make it third time lucky in a world middleweight title shot.

Golovkin, meanwhile, the reigning and defending WBA Super world champion, is considered by fight fans to be the most devastating and exciting boxer in the world today.

With 28 knockouts from 31 consecutive victories, he hits harder, pound-for-pound, than anyone else in the sport and has appeared faultless in racking up twelve straight defences of his world championship. Each of his last twelve challengers were knocked out.

Nobody has yet to figure a way to diffuse the monstrous puncher from Kazakhstan. On February 21 in Monte Carlo, it’s Murray’s turn.
