Heavyweight sensation Hughie Lewis Fury will face Argentina’s Emilio Ezequiel Zarate over eight rounds this Saturday night (November 14) at Bristol’s City Academy as part of the undercard to Nick Blackwell’s British middleweight title defence against Jack Arnfield, live on Channel 5.

Buenos Aires-based Zarate is a veteran of 35 professional fights and has done the majority of his fighting in his native Argentina. The 34-year-old has shared the ring with the likes of Fabio Moli, George Arias and the unbeaten Arnold Gjergjaj, has nine knockouts from eighteen wins, and is the former South American heavyweight champion.

Twenty-one-year-old Fury, meanwhile, is undefeated in 16 professional fights and recently outpointed both George Arias and Andriy Rudenko over the ten-round distance. He’s been preparing for this fight in camp with world heavyweight title challenger Tyson Fury, his cousin, and claims to be in the best shape of his life. This will be his third fight of 2015.

“Hughie is a fantastic young heavyweight talent who is looking more impressive than ever in training,” said promoter Mick Hennessy. “He’s had a great 2015 so far, beating a couple of durable and dangerous heavyweights, and next year will be gunning for titles.

“He’s very hard to match right now, though, as a lot of top heavyweights are turning down the chance to fight him. They know how good he is.

“He had great pedigree in the amateur ranks, winning a World Youth Amateur Championship, and is now showing that same pedigree in the pros.

“I’m very excited that the Channel 5 viewers get to see his progression.”
